J’aurai pu appeler cette article « Merci gérard N°2 ». Après « Merci gérard N°1 » pour m’avoir aidé à faire des vidéo d’une de mes sortie, c’est la second fois qu’il m’aide sur un nouveau projet: Une planche de  kitefoil à palpeur fixe.

I could named this article « thanks gérard N°2 ». After « thanks gérard N°1 » for helping me to make some images of one of my session, this is the second time he help me for a new project: An automatic controlled kitefoil.

En 1999 Gérard delerm  commença un projet avec  l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie et de Physique de Bordeaux: faire voler une planche à voile. « Le foilboard » était née et après differentes versions, il pris son envol. Mais gérard n’eut pas assez de temps pour continuer et la première version du foilboard resta dans son jardin pendant des années. Il continua à travailler sur la théorie et finallement il trouva le bon équilibre. Il m’expliqua ce que devrait être un foilboard « éfficace » juste avant que je lui montre cette vidéo, il avait raison.

In 1999 Gérard delerm  start a project with The Graduate School of Chemistry, Biology and Physics of Bordeaux: make flying a windsurf. « Le foilboard » was born and after differents versions, it start to fly. But gerard didn’t had time to continue and the first version of the foilbaord stayed in his garden during years. He continue to work on the theorie and finally he found the good balance. He explain to me what should be an « efficient » foilboard just before i show him this vidéo, he was right.

Lorsque je l’ai appelé pour lui demandé s’il pourrai de me donné le foil en T de son ancienne planche, il accepta tout de suite. Sa seul condition était que je prenne le tout: La planche, les foils, differentes surfaces planantes et accessoires.

When i called him to ask if he was ok to give me one of the hydrofoil of the foilboard he accept directly. He just ask me to take everything: the board, the foil, different planning surface and accessories.

Avec touts ces truc je vais pouvoir faire 2 planches: Une (ci-dessous) avec un vieux surf et une autre avec la planche de wind .

So with all this stuff i can build 2 boards, one with a old surfboard and an other with the the windsurf.

Je ferai des test en tracté et je posterai les images.
